Wyld asked me to write from my perspective and I finally got around to it. I played a typical Giles deck and it did quite well in all three rounds.
Round 1: Giles vs Spike
Early two Oh, the *Other* Cemetery meant denial of challenges and thus card drawing for my opponent. Completing my challenges was little harder than normal, but I pulled off a 10 to 0 win because I was active and won before he was ready to complete his 6 pt challenge.
Round 2: Giles vs Giles
Oh, the *Other* Cemetery is even better when you steal a challenge and beat it. Things could've gone much worse if she would've pulled off a Circle of Kayless (yes in a good deck), but was short of the 3 BK (enough Heroes and Varsity Trainings to keep her relatively uneffected by it).
Round 3: Giles vs Kendra
First turn, fail to complete challenge, but nice card drawing. Second turn, complete You Can Trust the Technopagan and Offer of Ugly Death for 5 VPs. Third turn, Oh, the *Other* Cemetery opponents just played You Can Trust the Technopagan to where mine was and complete it with an Offer of Ugly Death for the win. There isn't much you can do about against card flow like that.
Round 4: Giles vs Spike
This was a what-if where I played Wlyd since we were both undefeated, it took place several days later. First turn Spike marches over to Giles location. Giles thinks he can survive, fetches a Wisdom and tools up with it. Spike attacks Giles, I draw 4 or 5 characters and horribly lose. Second turn I complete a challenge for 3 VP. Third turn, I barely stop Wlyd from completing Pergamum Prophecy and he keeps me from beating The Talent Show Must Go On (an Offer of Ugly Death and completing the challenge would've been victory for either one of us) Game goes back and forth for a few more turns with Spike killing lots of Scoobies. Giles was resurrected once per turn and then Puppet Cased away since I thought the turn would be my last anyway several times. I make a desparate jump at a challenge, fail, Wyld beats Abduction for the win.
Maybe we'll get a rematch at Misty Mtns, maybe I'll play Charm Buffy (Charm Buffy + The Look = Soooo Good!)
